Sailing through the fog

Sept 16th – Added element in today’s sail with the enchantment of sailing through fog. We could hear the calls of sea birds and sea lions before they became visible. We could navigate the shoreline by smelling the kelp. We could see blue sky above whilst barely 50 feet in front then magically with a wisp the fog disappeared and we were surrounded by islands. We passed our favorite places of Castle Rock and Colville Island to circumnavigate Lopez. Largest we’ve seen this year of congregations of sea birds diving into bait balls in Rosario Strait.
