Whale watching in wild seas

July 18, 2017 – We found an unusual looking seal at Flattop Island today who had strange looking pelage. Other harbor seals were swimming nearby with their pups. Drifted through New Channel in the calm before turning the corner to sail down Haro Strait. The seas were building offshore, but the orcas didn’t mind. We found members from L pod breaching all over the place. It was great to see them. Sailed close to Cattle Point Lighthouse and checked out Goose Island nature preserve. Lots of baby gulls with watchful parents nearby.
