Drifting through the Cactus Islands

August 4, 2017 – Another evening with interesting light because of the forest fires up north giving everything a pinkish hue. Light winds and glassy conditions made drifting through the many islands in New Channel stunningly beautiful. Several harbor seals with pups were resting in the kelp forests. Black oyster catchers getting settled and ready for bed. Bald eagles guarded their nest. A pink orb in the sky lit our way home.
