Sailing the edge of the kelp forest

September 4th 2017 Short sail North to Flattop Island, Cactus Island, New Channel. Eagles, seals, Harbor Porpoise and sunshine. Harbor Seals enjoying laying on the kelp forest which has grown to perhaps it’s fullest this year. We love to sail the edge of the forest and see the fronds of the kelp held fast to the rocky bottom weave through the clear water.  The fastest growing plant in the world – grows a foot a day (faster than my hair) and a perennial that is in full glory right now
