Whale watching with Transient Orcas T65As and T99s

August 15, 2017 – We cut the lines and dashed off with the hopes to catch up with transient orcas who were on the Canadian side of Haro Strait. It was a close one, but we got there before they got out of range. We watched two orca families known as the T65A’s and the T99’s socializing and traveling together. The orcas continued up Swanson Channel while we cut across to sail along the North Pender coast admiring the gorgeous Pender Bluffs. Dramatic scenery the entire way. We crossed Boundary Pass and through Johns Pass to drift through the peace and serenity in New Channel. As we sailed towards Flattop Island we noticed a bald eagle swimming to shore. Sunshine and pastel skies followed us home.
