July 1, 2018 – Today was one of the windiest days we’ve had all year. Gusts of 30knots predicted. We reefed the main and sailed fast up Presidents Channel on the flood to Pt Doughty. We found a peregrine falcon perched in a tree above its home on the cliff. Ducking in close to shore we hugged the forested coastline of Orcas Island spotting many bald eagles and 3 eagle nests along the way. As we rounded Spring Pass the seas calmed and the sun began to set. We were treated to a beautiful sunset while enroute back to Friday Harbor.
