June 22, 2025 – We had been following reports of a family of Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T65B’s coming inter-island through Thatcher Pass. After leaving Friday Harbor we caught the back eddy up to Turn Island where the flood current carried us nicely up Upright Channel. The orcas turned at Upright Head to come down Upright Channel. We caught up to them near Odlin Park and paralleled them getting some nice views towards Fisherman’s Harbor. The orcas changed direction and returned to a northwest course towards Shaw Island. We left them near Hicks Bay to sail the coastline north to Pt George before returning to Friday Harbor.
