August 1, 2025 – A great day for sailing. We sailed all the way to Flattop Island and back. Harbor seals were hauled out with their new pups. Gull chicks were exploring on Gull Rock. The two eaglets on Flattop Island were out of the nest. One circled in the air and dropped what looked like a Douglas fir cone that it was gripping in its talons. It then circled a few more times with its talons down ready to land and did so next to its sibling in the grass up on the hillside. Super cool sight. On our way back we sailed through the Wasp Islands where we slowed down for a birthday celebration with cake. Such a fun day.
