Biggs/Transient Orcas T65B’s crossing Rosario Strait towards Cypress Island

August 23, 2025 – With a good current and good winds we had a fast close-hauled sail into Upright Channel. Winds increased for an exciting beam reach to Peavine Pass. We’d been following reports of Biggs/Transient orcas T65B’s who had also come through Peavine Pass and were crossing Rosario Strait. We caught up with them as they approached Cypress Island. Some good views as they came into the coastline. We left them to continue north to Eagle Cliff before another fast sail across to Obstruction Pass. We cooked BBQ sockeye sandwich lunch which was delicious in the restaurant of Upright Channel.
