We sailed through Spieden Channel to meet the J’s at Battleship. Fast travel spread in loose groups to the Stuart Island shoreline. Swinging Turn Pt at full flood with direction changes, porpoising, and milling. Our hydrophone was picking up calls and echolocation. They were clearly finding fish, excitement for all. L87 was on the outside and appeared to pull a joke on us, disappearing then re-appearing next to us. We left them to sail Pender Bluffs and returned in the sunset north of John’s Island. Painted landscape of Flattop and the twilight curtains were drawn. Drifting near the cliff face north of Deer Harbor gave us the echos of fireworks as the still waters reflected the Orcas Island firework show.
