Aug 30th – Lots of Southern Resident Killer Whales from L pod including the L12’s and part of K pod foraging and socializing on a west side shuffle. Great vocals on the hydrophone and fun to see them larking around. We are noticing in our photos whales are skinny. Particularly noticing sunken area behind the blowhole of L91 Muncher (mom of 1 yr old calf L122) and L105 Fluke (12 yr old male) looking thin on his sides when he breached multiple times. We hope these orcas are finding enough Chinook salmon to eat. Dramatic skies on the sunset sail home.
