Orcas T49A’s and T19 with T19B hunting Gull Rock and Jones Island

August 30, 2022 – It was an exciting sail with Biggs/Transient orcas known as T49A’s (minus T49A1 and T49A2) plus T19 with son, T19B.  Stunning backlit blows in New Channel and near Gull Rock while the orcas hunted in the shallow coves. We’ve seen the T18’s/T19’s hunt at Gull Rock several times before. The orcas headed south down San Juan Channel and found another harbor seal along the shoreline of Jones Island. Lots of action and tails in the air during the hunt. We had a beautiful sunset and spectacular evening light enroute back to Friday Harbor.
