Biggs orcas T65A’s southbound from Jones Island

May 4, 2023 – After casting off we had a drift sail along the San Juan coastline to Pt Caution. We continued to the Wasp Islands while following reports of a humpback whale eastbound in Spieden Channel, and a family of Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T65A’s southbound from Flattop Island. With a beam reach passed Jones Island we met the T65A’s and sailed alongside back to the Wasp Islands. The humpback was a 2 year old who took Presidents Channel to the northeast. We left the T65A’s passing Yellow Island and broke away to sail through the maze of islets.
