Humpback whale siblings BCX1057 “Divot” and BCZ0298 “Split Fin”

June 24, 2023 – After a fun sail down San Juan Channel we stopped by Whale Rocks to see the Steller sea lions. Humpback whale siblings (sister and brother) BCX1057 “Divot” and BCZ0298 “Split Fin” have been spending a lot of time together lately. We were very excited to have some quality time sailing with these two as they traveled along the southern edge of Salmon Bank. On our way back we checked out Goose Island to see all the nesting cormorants and gulls and saw lots of harbor seals hauled out. A great blue heron was standing nearby and the resident raccoon was foraging on Turn Island.
