July 10, 2025 – Today we circumnavigated San Juan Island. Hugged the Lopez Island coastline as we headed south in San Juan Channel. Many gull chicks were on Goose Island near the nesting cormorants. As we came around to the west side of the island we met up with 4 Biggs/Transient orcas, T75 with her 34 year old son, T75A, and her daughter T75C with her offspring T75C3. Her youngest offspring, T75C4, wasn’t present and is presumably missing. We had good wind which helped us sail nicely parallel to the orcas. After leaving the orcas we sailed up to Stuart Island and came through New Channel. It was cool spotting an osprey flying around as we often don’t see too many of them. We spotted many harbor seals, bald eagles and the eaglets in their nest on Flattop Island. Returned via the Wasp Island and sailed across to Friday Harbor.
