August 19, 2025 – We sailed out of Friday Harbor and Turn Island pass seeing harbor seals hauled out in the morning sun. With news of Biggs/Transient orcas, the T19’s, northbound at the bottom of Rosario Strait we took a northerly course to meet them. We came inside of Canoe Island and over to Upright Head seeing a bald eagle in a Madrona tree. Over to Peavine Pass where we heard the orcas had taken Thatcher pass so we circled Spindle Rock with its harbor seals and a great blue heron and came back inter-island to Flower Island. We met the orcas after they had just come through the narrow pass between Spencer Spit and Frost Island. Sailed parallel as they traveled north into Cayou Channel leaving them at West Sound. Returned by way of the Wasp Islands.
