August 4, 2026 – Sailed out of Friday Harbor beam reach on the ebb current. Switching to wing on wing which took us through the cut inside Turn Island. Views of the harbor seals and a bald eagle before we picked up the pace to head to Cattle Pass. Some great views passing Deadman Island of harbor seals. We drifted to the entrance of the pass by Charles Island and were treated to a view of Biggs/Transient orcas (siblings) T77C and T77E as they followed the Lopez Island shoreline. After the orcas came into Cattle Pass we left to visit Whale Rocks and view the Steller sea lions. We saw the orcas again as they passed Rock Pt. On our return to Friday Harbor we stopped by Turn Rock to view the sea otter who was wrapped in bull kelp taking nap before sailing home.
