Sailing with a super pod of transient orcas

Sept 4th – Transient orcas T18,T19’s dosey doe with T34’s, T36, T37, T37B’s and T99’s. We arrived South end of Cypress Island in a band of heavy fog and felt lucky to catch a glimpse of a fin. As the fog burned off we were privy to a large group of Transient killer whales socializing and hunting at the same time. T19C was egging on the group with the females and T18 showed up out of the blue. Leaving these whales heading into Guemes Channel we found all the T18’s together circumnavigating Burrows Island before quietly passing the others to exchange places. Every trip is different and today was spectacular!
