July 5, 2018 – Sailed north on the flood seeing our favorite birds, the black oyster catchers, harbor seals with brand new pups, bald eagles galore and beautiful sights of the islands. As we came around Flattop Island we received a report of the T124A’s at Sidney. We changed course to the west through New Channel and hugged the coastline of Stuart Island up to Turn Point Lighthouse. On route to Moresby Island we saw two humpback whales deep dive as the transient orcas approached. We sailed with the orcas along the coastline of Moresby before they changed course to the east for the Pender Bluffs. After rounding Blunden Island where we caught a brief glimpse of two eagle chicks in a nest before heading south by way of Ripple Island.
