Wildlife to the North

March 17, 2021 – Spectacular start spotting a group of Steller sea lions, bald eagles and mergansers right outside of Friday Harbor. Harbor seals were enjoying the sunshine on the south side of Flattop Island. Seven bald eagles were perched on the aspen trees of Ripple Island. New Channel was loaded with harbor seals. The Peregrine falcon was perched on the bluff at Spieden Island, and it was a good day on the south side of Spieden Island to see the grazing animals. Sea lions were hanging out by Green Pt. Many porpoise were foraging south of Flattop Island. A first for us – wild turkeys on Orcas Island.
