Bald eagle bonanza on Flattop Island

July 11, 2021 – Evening sail up to Flattop National Wildlife Refuge where harbor seals hauled out, adult and juvenile bald eagles were busy up to something and pigeon guillemots gathered near their nesting sites. Returned via the Wasp Islands where more harbor seals relaxed in the setting sun and a bald eagle was perched on Shirt Tail Reef channel marker. Black oystercatchers stood on the rocks in beautiful evening light as we sailed by watching the sun go down.
