April 26, 2024 – This evening we had an epic encounter with Biggs/Transient Orcas T19, T19B, T36A’s and T49A’s (minus T49A2) just north of Yellow Island. When we arrived they were engaged in eating and vocalizing non-stop (heard via our hydrophone). T19, T19B and T49A1 were together off on their own nearby while the others were busy in tight groups very social with many breaches and spy hops. Gulls were everywhere swooping in for scraps. T36A2 did a whopping 7 breaches in a row! We left them southbound right outside of Friday Harbor after sunset.
