May 13, 2025 – To name some of our favorite wildlife sightings of today; mink swimming to Nob Island, bald eagle in a nest on both Flattop Island and north side of Stuart Island, pair of deer on the rocks by Little Cactus Island, many harbor seals on Flattop Island and in New Channel, and three humpback whales northbound in Haro Strait. They were identified as “Bagheera” (2021 calf of BCY0523 “Graze”), BCY1134 “Spock”, and 2022 calf of BCX1710 “Ocean”. “Bagheera” (gender unknown) also seen in Hawaii. “Spock” (gender unknown) was first logged on HappyWhale in 2021 has also been seen in Baja, Mexico. 2022 Calf of “Ocean” (gender unknown) also seen in Hawaii.
