August 4, 2025 – An incredible sail including some enigmatic orcas, the T19’s, a mother with 2 huge sons, T19B and T19C. We met the orcas near Nob Island where the orcas cut through that narrow pass. They chose a route inter-island and stopped to hunt harbor seals near Blind Bay, Shaw Island. There was another quick predation near the bottom of East Sound as indicated by the intestines draped in front of the dorsal fin of T19B. We watched as the orcas took Obstruction Pass and stopped to hunt again near Spindle Rock. They continued south and eventually crossed over to Strawberry Island while we enjoyed a beautiful drift sail down the coastline of Blakely Island. A parent bald eagle was perched in the trees with its newly fledged chick. We returned by way of Thatcher Pass and back down Upright Channel with a sail across to Friday Harbor. A perfect day
