Biggs/Transient Orcas T37A’s by Johns Island

August 12, 2025 – With news of Biggs/Transient orcas T37A’s northbound in Haro Strait we headed north. We sailed through the Wasp Islands seeing harbor seals then up to Jones Island and over to the Spieden Island shoreline. We met the orcas as they crossed to Sentinel Island and rounded into New Channel. All the kids of Johns Island Camp Norwester came down to the shoreline to watch. The orcas took Johns Pass and we continued with them until we reached Turn Pt Lighthouse. Rounding Turn Pt and close into Lovers Leap taking the Stuart Island shoreline back to New Channel where we enjoyed drifting the calm fast moving waters. Over to Flattop Island where more harbor seals were hauled out warming in the sunshine before making our way back to Friday Harbor.
