Biggs/Transient Orcas T75B's with T100's followed by T65 and son T63 "Chainsaw"

August 31, 2025 – With reports of Biggs/Transient orcas T75B’s with T100’s heading northwest near Sucia Island we made fast tracks north. Took the scenic route through the Wasp Islands and up the Orcas Island north coast. We hurried up the east side of Waldron Island to north of Patos Island where we arrived on scene. It was exciting seeing the almost one month old calf in the T75B’s. Twenty-three year old male T100C stood out from the crowd with his tall dorsal fin. T100E has dispersed and isn’t currently traveling wtih the T100’s. Instead she often travels with her sister T100B and her offspring. After some great views of the 8 orcas we changed course to meet two more orcas, approximately fifty-seven year old T65 with her forty-seven year old son, T63 “Chainsaw”, who happened to be rounding East Pt and heading west into Boundary Pass. Ater leaving the Chainsaw and mom we headed south stopping by White Rock to see the resting harbor seals before making our way down San Juan Channel back to Friday Harbor.
