Sept 4, 2025 – Sailed North with a report of Biggs/transient orcas of the T75B matriline rounding Henry Island. We came through the Wasp Islands and over to Green Point keeping an eye out as there’s been reports of returning Steller sea lions. In New Channel along the Spieden Island coastline we saw a few purple sea stars on the low tide line and harbor seals lingering in the kelp. We took Johns Pass while the orcas were taking the Stuart Island shorline north and met them in Boundary Pass heading into Swanson mid channel. After paralleling them for a few surfacings we turned for home, but on the next surfacing doubled back as they were engaged in hunting a harbor seal. When the hunt was complete we turned South passing Moresby Island down to Turn Point lighthouse and Lovers Leap. Passing close to the shoreline of South Stuart and Spieden shorelines seeing bald eagles, mouflon sheep and fallow deer.
