Sept 15, 2025 – With a report of orcas heading for Spieden Channel from Haro Strait we headed north. After sailing through the Wasp Islands and cutting across San Juan Channel we met the Biggs/Transient orcas, T36A1’s and T99B, southbound towards Friday Harbor. Backlit blows against the forested shoreline gave stunning views. After passing Friday Harbor they stopped at Brown Island to hunt a harbor seal. When the hunt was complete we sailed through Turn Island Pass and down to Whale Rocks. After viewing the Steller sea lions we found a sea otter playing in the kelp forest. After returning via Deadman Island viewing harbor seals we crossed Cattle Pass for one more view of the orcas heading south.
