Biggs/ Transient Orcas T19’s pass Orcas Ferry Landing

May 24, 2026 – With reports of Orcas in West Sound we sailed North out of Friday Harbor. At Wasp Pass we noticed an adult bald eagle in their active nest at Cliff Island. Continuing East between Shaw and Orcas Islands we met the Biggs orcas of the T19 family of mum and two adult sons heading East passing the Orcas ferry landing and cruising the Orcas Island shoreline. Exciting to see these powerful fast moving orcas with their blows accented against the forested shoreline. We left them at Upright Channel as we tacked South to circumnavigate Shaw Island.  Nearing Canoe Island we met a family of 8 river otters socialising and swimming, coming ashore at a beach before running into the forest. Birthday cake for turning 7 years as we came through the pass of Canoe Island.
