June 19, 2026 – After casting off from Friday Harbor we scooted out quickly because Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T65A’s (minus T65A5) with the T64B’s were northbound in San Juan Channel. We got on scene just north of Turn Rock and sailed parallel getting some beautiful views. As they ducked in close to Hicks Bay, Shaw Island, their backlit exhales looked breathtaking. They continued northbound quickly on the flood current. We left them near Jones Island and returned via the Wasp Islands before sailing across the channel to Pt Caution hugging the coastline back into Friday Harbor.
