August 7, 2026 – After casting off we headed north to Flattop Island. Many harbor seals were hauled out by Yellow Island with young pups. Pigeon guillemots are nesting at Flattop Island and more harbor seals were hauled out. We received a report of a pair of orcas, siblings T77C and T77E, in Rosario Strait. We came south through Spring Pass and inter-island on a mission to see them. After they came through Thatcher Pass we hoped they’d come north, but instead they went south to Lopez Sound. We eventually caught up and got some really lovely views as they traveled towards Lopez Pass. For our return we came back via Upright Channel.
