Biggs/Transient Orcas T19’s across the channel from Friday Harbor

September 5, 2026 – After hustling our passengers for an earlier departure on account of Biggs/Transient orcas T19’s coming down San Juan Channel we cut the lines with a fast close-hauled sail to Pt George. Lovely views of the orcas against the Shaw Island coastline. They took Upright Channel and we took the pass behind Canoe Island. We followed the Shaw Island coastline and left them just shy of Hankin Pt. Returned back down Upright Channel and found the sea otter swimming towards Turn Rock. Came inside Turn Island and into the south entrance to Friday Harbor passed Brown Island.
