September 27, 2026 – Incredible evening on our short sunset sail. We had the opportunity to see Biggs/Transient orcas of the T19 matriline (T19 (born <1965) with her huge adult sons, T19B (born 1995) and T19C born 2001)). We met them near Pt Caution and admired their backlit exhales as they hugged the coastline before briefly ducking into Friday Harbor. As they continued south they took the narrow channel around Turn Island State Park and came inside Griffin Bay. We left them just south of Dinner Island. As we were returning to Friday Harbor we had the most spectacular sight of the full harvest moon rising over Mt Baker.
