Evening sunset sail

September 3, 2020 – Short evening sunset sail. Cut the lines and raised the sails. With decent winds we had a nice sail across the channel towards the Shaw Island shoreline south of Neck Pt. Tacking back out into the channel and again towards Low Island we passed many harbor seals warming up in the sunshine. We continued up to the east side of Jones Island hugging the coastline. Wrapping around the top of the island we stopped to admire the views in all directions. Mountains off to the right, Canada to the north, and layers upon layers of islands to the west. The evening light was illuminating the islands with warm colors as we came back down the west side of Jones Island towards McConnell Island. We cut inside of Coon Island and zig zagged to come in between Nob and Cliff Islands before making our way back down the channel and into Friday Harbor.
