June 25, 2023 – We kept our speed up while sailing north after leaving Friday Harbor because Southern Resident orcas from J Pod were northbound on the west side of San Juan Island. We paused at Battleship Island and watched from a distance of over half a mile as J Pod went north in Haro Strait towards Turn Point. We were able to sail parallel enjoying the view. From Stuart Island we headed back through New Channel enjoying a birthday cake for one of our passengers. We sailed on the flood current to Flattop Island and came back down Spring Passage and through the Wasp Islands with a sunset sail back to Friday Harbor.
