Biggs/Transient Orcas T123’s with T124A4’s in Wasp Passage

May 28, 2026 – Reefed sails and moderately strong winds made a fast beam reach across the channel and wing on wing by the Tift Rocks to Neck Pt, Shaw Island. We cut between the Wasp Islands for our BBQ supper in the lee of Crane Island. Returning towards McConnell Island we spotted blows against the shoreline. Biggs/Transient orcas T123’s and T124A4’s (7 animals total) had come south after traveling north up President Channel much to our surprise. Fast travel through Wasp Passage and Cayou Channel with some good views in the choppy seas. We left them at Upright Channel and sailed back to Friday Harbor at sunset.
