Short sunset sail

July 21, 2026 – Short sail – came through Turn Island pass and finding wind started sailing towards Lopez. The wind however dropped so we double backed to Turn Rock. No sea otter in the kelp this evening. Wing on wing with a small flood current we headed to the Shaw Island coastline. We saw a great blue heron successfully spear a fish and two bald eagles and a turkey vulture were engaged in eating a harbor seal pup. We sailed back to Friday Harbor with the sunset seeing a few harbor porpoise.
