Biggs/Transient Orcas T77C and T77E near Blakely Island

July 23, 2026 – With reports of orcas, T77C and T77E, southbound in Rosario we headed inter-island after stopping to see the sea otter by Turn Rock. We met the whales outside Peavine Pass and sailed alongside as they hugged the Blakely Island coastline. They came inside Thatcher Pass and continued rounding the coastline on the westside of the island. Playful behaviour with views of a “sea snake” (a whale’s penis). We left the whales near Peavine Pass and they continued northbound into East Sound. Returned home via Upright Channel and Canoe Island.
