Biggs/Transient Orcas T19’s in San Juan Channel

August 13, 2026 – We sailed north through the Wasp Islands and up to Limestone Pt where we met Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T19’s. Sailed alongside as they came south in San Juan Channel and then east to the Wasp Islands. We watched as they weaved through the rocks and reefs before continuing to the east through Wasp Passage whereupon we left them to head north to Flattop Island. We did see an eagle chick in the nest at Cliff Island. At Flattop Island we had a nice view of river otters in and out of the water on the north side. Lots of harbor seals warming in the sunshine on the honeycomb sandstone shoreline. On our return to Friday Harbor we met the T19’s again who had circled Shaw Island. Nice views with backlit blows near Pt Caution.
