Epic day with Orcas – T19’s, T35A’s, and T49A’s

August 16, 2026 – Passenger pick up today from Orcas Island. We came back out through Pole Pass and Spring Pass to President Channel. We had been monitoring reports of orcas coming down Georgia Strait who then veered into Boundary Pass. We hugged the Orcas Island shoreline to Lovers Cove then crossed to Waldron Island rounding Pt Disney and up to Sandy Pt. We met the T49A’s (minus T49A1 and T49A2) mid Boundary westbound. After sailing parallel we veered off to meet the T35A’s half a mile to the north. And then we veered off to meet the T19’s half mile north near Tilly Pt. We then crossed back towards Stuart Island where the T49A’s and T35A’s were together again coming out of Prevost Harbor. The views were so gorgeous with the views of backlit blows against the shoreline that we extended our sail to travel parallel toward Turn Pt Lighthouse. The orcas continued westerly while we wrapped around passed Lovers Leap and returned to Orcas Island via New Channel. Other wildlife seen included harbor porpoise, belted kingfishers, bald eagles, harbor seals, great blue herons. Epic sail with whales.
