October 16, 2026 – With news from friends/repeat passengers of orcas approaching Reuben Tarte from the north we called passengers for a hasty departure. We met the orcas, Biggs/Transient orcas known as the T49A’s, as they came towards Pt Caution. Great views as they hugged the San Juan Island coastline and came into Friday Harbor. They passed two ferry boats and skirted the edge of the marina through to Shipyard Cove. As dusk fell we returned to Friday Harbor.
