Biggs/Transient Orcas T100’s and Mt Baker

June 14, 2026 – With a report of Biggs/Transient orca family known as the T100’s traveling from Green Pt to Flattop Island we headed north. Fast close hauled sail across the channel and hugged the Shaw Island coastline to stay out of the ebb. Through the Wasp Islands with a quick look at the eagle in their nest, and up through Spring Pass with a fast sail with outflow winds from President Channel. Drifted passed White Rock where the harbor seals were hauled out to continue towards Skipjack Island. We met the orcas in glassy waters near Bare Island. Multiple changes in direction with some stunning views with a Mt Baker back drop as they travelled towards Pt Doughty before changing course towards Sucia Island.  Current had turned to flood so we hugged the forested Orcas Island coastline of President Channel. We saw quite a few bald eagles and a mink. We dropped two of our passengers off at the Orcas Island ferry landing before returning to Friday Harbor.
