September 9, 2026 – Full day sail circumnavigating San Juan Island. With a report of Biggs/Transient orca brothers, T60D and T60E, moving northeast towards San Juan Island from Middle Bank we went south. Had a nice look at the nesting cormorant families on Goose Island before wrapping around Cattle Point. The orcas dithered north, then south, and then decided on north up island so we had some catch up to do. We arrived on scene near Land Bank Westside Preserve and had some lovely views as the male pair traveled up island close to shore exciting many onlookers in kayaks and on land. As we broke away to take Mosquito Pass through Roche Harbor it appeared they decided to do the same. We hugged the San Juan coastline as we came over the top and down the east side to return back to Friday Harbor.
